Gaetano Pesce was an influential and inimitable Italian designer and architect, celebrated for his eclectic and innovative approach to design. Known for challenging traditional aesthetics, Pesce’s works often blur the lines between art and functionality. His series "Nobody's Perfect" exemplifies this philosophy, offering unique pieces that embrace imperfections and celebrate individuality. The "Nobody's Perfect" side chairs, designed by Pesce in 2005 and produced by Zero Disegno, are a striking representation of his design ethos.

Design

Crafted from polyurethane resin and color-printed plastic, these chairs feature backrests shaped like abstract human profiles, their mouths open as if in mid-speech. This design choice not only adds a whimsical and expressive quality but also serves as a conversation starter. The chairs are distinguished by their vibrant colors: one combines red, blue, and yellow, while the other features black, red, blue, and yellow. A notable feature of these chairs is the use of mortise and tenon connections, which are deliberately exposed and integrated into the design. This method of assembly not only ensures the sturdiness of the chairs but also adds an element of industrial charm. Despite the flexibility of the backrests, the chairs remain robust and functional, embodying Pesce’s talent for merging playful design with practicality. These chairs stand as a testament to his vision of creating artful, thought-provoking, and durable furniture. One of the chairs is marked with the number 573 and the other with 062, signifying their individuality within the series. Stamped at the lower back with "ZeroDisegno" and "Gaetano Pesce," these markings authenticate the chairs as genuine pieces. All the pieces in the "Nobody's Perfect" project are unique and unrepeatable, crafted through manual processes that vary each time. These chairs are therefore true works of art.

Condition

The chairs remain in a very good condition with only minor signs of wear.

This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
