Postmodern high back side chair in oak and teak, designed by Dutch designer Frederik Weerkamp. This design strips the concept of a chair down to the point where the function becomes most visible and tangible. It would not be right to assign the term deconstructivism to this chair, although it gives a strong impression of fragmentation.
Design
This sense of fragmentation is created through the empty spaces between the oak beams. The chair has four front legs, two of which are almost vertical outer legs and two inner legs that slope slightly inward. When you sit on this chair, the forces will be distributed over five legs, creating a wonderfully sturdy whole. Slats of the seat are threaded to the front rail together with the front legs. A similar construction occurs at the back of the seat, which is connected to the backrest. An aluminum cylinder is visible at the top of the backrest, which, in addition to fixing the middle teak wooden slat with the two outer ones, also serves as a subtle detail. Flame drawings and ring years on the surface of the wood are another pleasant appearance.Viewed from the sides, we also observe the illusion of movement, because the four front legs seem to drag the back leg.

All in all an intriguing chair and is in good condition.
