These two nightstands look a bit like the towers of a medieval castle. The nod to buildings from that period was more common in Italy in the 1960s and 1970s. A telling example comes from the illustrious quartet B.B.P.R. who were inspired by the architecture of that period for the design of the Torre Velasca in Milan.
Design
These cabinets are made of walnut wood and have a shade that ranges from dark brown to an almost golden hue. The spectrum of walnut wood also allows this and is therefore a popular material among designers and furniture makers. It adds class and drama to a piece of furniture that does not necessarily have to stand out in terms of design. Howerer that is not the case with these two. Relatively large in size and a relief a la Frigerio on the doors provide an immediate presence for anyone who enters the room where these cabinets are located.
The construction is very robust and above all offers plenty of storage space. Openings at the front extend all the way to the back and the same applies for the space behind the doors. Then there is the spacious top where all kinds of things can be exhibited, with the so-called turrets slightly protruding on each corner. Striking and beautiful at the same time.
Condition
The condition of these night stands is very good with only superficial scratches and minor color differences that have occurred over the years."
Table arrived very well crated, seller made process seamless.
Excellent responsiveness, and with wonderful curatorial chops!
This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
