As a descendant of a family that has been specialized in making Murano glass for generations, it was Carlo Nason who changed his course in relation to his relatives. While father Vincenzo was mainly concerned with traditional and beautifully decorated glass works, Carlo joined the modernist movement and started experimenting. In addition to designs for manufacturers I TRE, Kalmar, Vistosi, Murano Due, and Firme di Vetro, among others, he has had a longstanding collaboration with Mazzega. The urge to produce modern lamps led Nason to collaborate with Gianni Mazzega. A good friend of the family. The 1970s and 1980s that followed were his most creative and productive years and he was responsible for the vast majority of Mazzega's designs.

Design

This beautiful pendant lamp made in bullicante Murano glass is the epitome of elegance. The bullicant technique involves adding several layers of bubbles to the thick glass. These bubbles are inserted at regular intervals, giving the glass a sparkling appearance. What is incredibly special about this lamp is the double glass shade. The inner shade hangs, as it were, in the outer shade. This is done in a refined manner because the outer shade has a small edge that is curved inward so that the inner shade can rest on it.The fixture consists of a rounded aluminum cylinder with a height-adjustable steel cord that leads to a aluminium cylinder shaped ceiling cap. The lamp holder is equipped with an E27 connection point. With the light off it is already a breathtaking piece, but when the light is turned on it creates a subtle spectacle. The bubbles trapped in the glass reflect beautifully on the wall and ceiling.

Condition

Despite its age, this lamp has been well preserved and only the aluminum shows light traces of use.
