A real treat for the eyes is this bench that bears the name Modello Uno. Designed around 1948 and taken into production by the Italian manufacturer Domus Nostra.

This currently rare item originated at an early stage of the period of much experimentation with curved plywood in Italy. It gave designers the opportunity to actually realize the lines of their brush strokes into physical objects without too many compromises. We see that nicely reflected in this specific design.

The L-shaped tub that slopes slightly backward is supported by a slender frame, the legs of which are tapered. Two crossbars between the legs at different heights ensure an additional reinforcement of the frame. A mirrored teak veneer decorates the seating and it is finished in a high gloss lacquer. The opening in the seat adds a lightness to this already very graceful design.

This is a typical Italian early mid-century design item that can serve in different places in your interior to provide it with a class and elegance that will immediately attract attention. It is marked with the Domus Nostra label and is in good condition and fully commensurate with age and use

We would like to mention that it should be treated with due care given its age.

This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
