Ico Parisi was an influential Italian architect and designer, renowned for his innovative contributions to mid-century modern design. He collaborated with numerous architects and artists, producing furniture that seamlessly blended functionality with artistic expression. Parisi's work is celebrated for its dynamic forms and meticulous craftsmanship, reflecting his commitment to pushing the boundaries of design. This particular sideboard, produced by Fratelli Rizzi in the 1950s, is a testament to Parisi's design prowess.

Design

Crafted from teak wood with a vertical grain, the sideboard embodies a sense of elegance and sophistication. The wood's rich, warm tones and fine grain enhance the piece's aesthetic appeal. Parisi's design is highly refined, featuring clean lines and a minimalist approach that is both timeless and contemporary. The sideboard's expressive and organic design is marked by its dynamic lines, which give the impression of movement, as if the piece is dancing in the room. The sideboard's unique form and structure set it apart from typical mid-century furniture. Its legs are angled and asymmetrical, providing a sense of lightness and stability, while the sculpted handles add an artistic touch. The interplay of geometric shapes and organic forms is a hallmark of Parisi's style, making this sideboard not just a functional piece of furniture but a work of art. Its presence in any space instantly elevates the interior, showcasing Parisi's genius in creating pieces that are both practical and profoundly expressive.

This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
