The Flavio Poli centerpiece bowl, model 13411, is a distinguished creation from the mid-20th century, epitomizing the masterful artistry of Sommerso Murano glasswork by Seguso. Designed by the renowned Italian glass artist Flavio Poli, this exquisite piece stands as a testament to the innovative glassmaking techniques of Murano. Poli, celebrated for his mastery in the Sommerso technique, has crafted this bowl to capture and refract light in a mesmerizing manner, creating an aura of elegance and opulence.

Design

This bowl showcases the quintessential elements of the Sommerso technique, layering different colors of glass within a single piece. The bowl features a harmonious blend of vibrant hues encased within a clear, crystal-like exterior. The outermost layer encloses rich, deep colors that gradually change and merge, producing a stunning visual effect. The foot is translucent, then a little bit of yellow appears. On top of that yellow comes a deep red color that takes the central position in the bowl. The biggest part is the so called brim of the hat and is green colored with a couple of millefiori accents. Absolutely stunning.  The bowl's form is fluid yet structured, with graceful curves and a smooth, polished surface that highlights the glass's depth and clarity. As mentioned earlier, it resembles the shape of a hat. This meticulous craftsmanship demonstrates Poli's technical prowess and artistic vision.

Condition

This bowl has no chips and only minor superficial marks.

This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
